Non-Perturbative Renormalization Group for Simple Fluids

چکیده
We present a new non perturbative renormalization group for classical simple fluids. The theory is built in the Grand Canonical ensemble and in the framework of two equivalent scalar field theories as well. The exact mapping between the three renormalization flows is established rigorously. In the Grand Canonical ensemble the theory may be seen as an extension of the Hierarchical Reference Theory (L. Reatto and A. Parola, Adv. Phys., 44, 211 (1995)) but however does not suffer from its shortcomings at subcritical temperatures. In the framework of a new canonical field theory of liquid state developed in that aim our construction identifies with the effective average action approach developed recently (J. Berges, N. Tetradis, and C. Wetterich, Phys. Rep., 363 (2002)). keywords : Critical Phenomena, Renormalization Group, Theory of Liquids, Hierarchical Reference Theory, Liquid-Vapor Transition, Kac Model. Lie-Group Approach to Perturbative Renormalization-Group Method
The Lie-group approach to the perturbative renormalization group (RG) method is developed to obtain an asymptotic solutions of both autonomous and non-autonomous ordinary differential equations. Reduction of some partial differetial equations to typical RG equations is also achieved by this approach and a simple recipe for providing RG equations is presented.
متن کاملNon-perturbative renormalization of four-quark operators and BK with Schrödinger functional scheme in quenched domain-wall QCD
We present non-perturbative renormalization factors for ∆S = 2 four-quark operators in quenched domain-wall QCD using the Schrödinger functional method. Non-perturbative renormalization factor for BK is evaluated at hadronic scale. Combined with the non-perturbative RG running obtained by the Alpha collaboration, our result yields renormalization factor which converts lattice bare BK to the ren...
متن کاملA New Renormalization Group for Hamiltonian Field Theory
The Schrödinger equation with a two-dimensional δ-function potential is a simple example of an asymptotically free theory that undergoes dimensional transmutation. Renormalization requires the introduction of a mass scale, which can be lowered perturbatively until an infrared cutoff produced by non-perturbative effects such as bound state formation is encountered. We outline the effective field...
متن کاملPerturbation theory and non-perturbative renormalization flow in scalar field theory at finite temperature
We use the non-perturbative renormalization group to clarify some features of perturbation theory in thermal field theory. For the specific case of the scalar field theory with O(N) symmetry, we solve the flow equations within the local potential approximation. This approximation reproduces the perturbative results for the screening mass and the pressure up to order g3, and starts to differ at ...
متن کاملRenormalization group and singular perturbations: Multiple scales, boundary layers, and reductive perturbation theory.
Perturbative renormalization group theory is developed as a unified tool for global asymptotic analysis. With numerous examples, we illustrate its application to ordinary differential equation problems involving multiple scales, boundary layers with technically difficult asymptotic matching, and WKB analysis. In contrast to conventional methods, the renormalization group approach requires neith...
